RECOOP is delighted to have been asked by NHS England & NHS Improvement to develop and produce a Distraction Pack for distribution to all rough sleepers who have been provided with appropriate accommodation during the COVID-19 crisis.
The packs will be produced fortnightly and circulated to all Local Authorities for distribution. They will include a template for people to share their own experiences through a story, poem or picture, which will then be collated and a selection added to future editions.
Olivia Butterworth, Lead on Homeless Health COVID-19 response for NHS England and NHS Improvement, said:
“We all know that self-isolating is hard and quite honestly boring. It’s even worse if you’re suddenly living in unfamiliar surroundings with limited social contact with others. The Recoop activity packs are a great way to relieve a little of that boredom. We’ve had great feedback from people who have received them and we look forward to future editions including the stories that they have shared about their experiences.”
