Fire & Safety Solutions Ltd (FASS) is an independent company established in 2003, specialising in the supply and service of fire safety equipment such as fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers, plus support services such as dry riser servicing and fire safety training. Their head office is based in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire with clients throughout the United Kingdom.
FASS have a diverse client base spanning a broad range of industries. As a company they also offer a range of services and required a printed brochure designing that would showcase FASS’s capabilities both visually and with clear written content, but without being too in-depth. The brochure could then be supported by product specific A4 datasheets which are tailored to the visiting client.
They key aim of the new brochure is to be an overview that showcases the range of services FASS can offer prospective clients. Historically such brochures were produced in-house, but lacked the consistent finish of professionally produced brochure and did not reflect FASS’s ethos as well as it could.
In addition to ensuring that the information was technically correct and highlights the current fire safety standards, the main feature of the brochure was the inclusion of high quality, full page photos to illustrate the topic or service being highlighted. Many of these photos were commissioned and then blended in with stock photos where it was not possible to safely take an image.
As FASS’s client base is extremely broad, from small local businesses right through to multi-national corporates, the information and feel has been kept deliberately high-level with specific A4 supplementary printed sheets printed to support the brochure where more in-depth information is required. These could then be slotted into an outer protective sleeve with a business card holder to create an overall printed package to be left with a client.
The print finish was also another important aspect if the printed brochure with a high quality matt, slightly textured paper used for the pages and spot-varnish used to pick out the red colour on the outside cover producing a high quality, tactile brochure.
