Single Page Website For The Vestibular Interdisciplinary Working Group
VIWG

The Vestibular Interdisciplinary Working Group (VIWG) consists of clinical and academic professionals committed to interdisciplinary vestibular neurorehabilitation. Their aim is to enable clients to lead more independent lives by enhancing their participation in daily activities.
The VIWG contacted AllDesignOnline to create a single-page website that would enable them to promote the group and reach out to professionals with an interest in vestibular rehabilitation.

The Project
Being a newly formed working group, the VIWG required a website to act as an initial online presence to begin promoting their collaborative work and attracting interest from other healthcare professionals and those seeking vestibular rehabilitation services. At this early stage of the group’s formation, it was requested that the website be a single page to provide a basic level of information, which the group could then expand upon at a later stage.
As budget was an important consideration, AllDesignOnline was asked to quote for two options: a fully bespoke single-page website or a pre-made theme that could be adapted to suit the VIWG’s requirements. Both options had their advantages, but for a new website where cost was a key factor, it was decided to proceed with a pre-made theme, with the option of a bespoke design being revisited at a later point. An additional consideration was that the webpage needed to be live ahead of an upcoming conference, which made the production times very short.
After reviewing a number of pre-made themes with the VIWG, the Porto theme was selected as it offered a good level of support and some flexibility in its design. Having installed the theme on a development server, configuring the theme to meet the VIWG’s requirements was a relatively quick process. With an existing logo and colour scheme already established, the design adjustments were also quickly made. Content had already been supplied, leaving only a selection of images to source and some design features to create.
The first draft of the site was presented to the VIWG, who reviewed the content and functionality, providing a set of comments with minor adjustments required. Once these had been made, the website was signed off and moved to the live domain in good time for the upcoming conference. The VIWG anticipates that, in the future, the site content will be expanded and additional pages added, with the option to create a bespoke-designed site that would integrate into the existing website, should it be required.
