Bilingual Website For Zürich Based Artisan Pizza Company
Flour & Water

Flour & Water were established in 2016 with the aim of turning their passion for good food into the finest pizza. Based in Zürich, they have recently expanded their food truck into a permanent location at ‘the Bridge’ in Europaallee, allowing more people to experience Pizza al Taglio and purchase other products, including their own Italian artisan beer.
AllDesignOnline first worked with Flour & Water in 2016, helping establish their initial web presence to launch the business. As the brand grew, AllDesignOnline were asked to redevelop the website to reflect this growth, including promoting the new pizza shop at ‘the Bridge’ in Europaallee, Zürich. The website has been integral in their growth and it is planned in the near future that an online ordering and delivery system for pizza and products will be launched with the help of AllDesignOnline.

The Project
The key aims of the website redevelopment were to promote the new shop at ‘the Bridge’, reinforce the brand and ideology of Flour & Water, and hint to users that online ordering and delivery would be available soon.
The established branding provided a solid starting point for this project; the logo, typography, and colours were already in use and were to be continued. As a food-based website, it was essential that the imagery be high-quality and effectively portray the pizza and ingredients. Rather than relying solely on photographs, we suggested that elements not directly related to food (e.g., processes such as the method used to create the pizza) should be represented through hand-drawn line illustrations. This approach reinforced the hand-made simplicity of the pizza and provided a clean, minimalistic aesthetic.
In addition to updated services and information, Flour & Water requested that the new site be available in two languages: Swiss-German and English. Users should be able to switch seamlessly between the two languages on any page. To achieve this, AllDesignOnline implemented a multisite approach, where written content is language-specific but assets are shared. This makes future updates easier and the site more efficient.
As with all modern websites, it was essential that the Flour & Water site display clearly on mobile devices and be fully responsive and easy to navigate to ensure maximum accessibility.
The modular construction of the site allows for additional sections to be added in future phases, along with an easy-to-use system for Flour & Water to add new content and update the site internally.
