Animated Explainer Video for the Milestones Clinic Website
Milestones Clinic
Established in 2004, Milestones delivers a comprehensive and specialist neurorehabilitation service by professionals who have the right set of skills to address the complex needs of people requiring neurological rehabilitation.
In response to a need from their clients, Milestones Clinic developed a service using remote video technology to provide ‘Blended Community and Clinic Support’, allowing expertise from the clinic to join clients in their own setting at a time that suits them. In order to explain the service, AllDesignOnline were approached to design, storyboard, and produce the animated explainer video below.

The Project
AllDesignOnline have a long-established working relationship with Milestones Clinic, having produced websites, printed, and promotional material over the years. This means we already have a good understanding of Milestones Clinic’s services, so when Milestones Clinic explained the new ‘Blended Community and Clinic Support’ service and asked how it could be presented, we suggested that an animated explainer video would be the logical choice.
Video is an excellent and engaging way of presenting content on a website, enabling you to present what would be complex or lengthy written information or concepts quickly, whilst retaining the viewer’s interest.
The first step was to storyboard the whole video, which had three purposes: 1) To define the content being presented and ensure all the points are captured, 2) To understand how the concepts will be visually represented, and 3) To act as a voiceover script to accompany the onscreen information.
Working with Milestones Clinic, the storyboard was edited down and refined, which was then used to produce a pilot animation with all of the key elements animated and a temporary digital voiceover. Although a storyboard is a vital element, producing a pilot animation gives a real sense of whether the written storyboard translates into animation and portrays the points you’d like to get across accurately. Reviewing the pilot with Milestones Clinic, some adjustments were made to the content to ensure the video remained under 3 minutes long.
With the adjustments implemented, the animation went to final production with all of the transitions, props, and expressions put in place. It was also decided that rather than using a professional voiceover artist, Sally, owner of Milestones Clinic, would narrate the video to add authenticity. The finished video can be seen on this page or by visiting the Milestones Clinic website below.
